Self-Awareness Meets Systems Awareness

I help people reach their goals by abandoning convention and embracing complexity.

Keira Wilson

Futurist/ Civic boundary spanner /Celebration enthusiast/ Life Designer

Keira is a civic boundary spanner bridging different parts of our lives, communities, and work into universal design. She finds that the act of celebration, no matter how small, enables us to illuminate our unique skills and traits to build a robust and inclusive world.

Keira has been deep in the trenches of adult education, social innovation, and social change. She has spent six years with Grinnell College designing civic-career leadership and newly part of the Johns Hopkins Life Design team reorienting the landscape of how we adopt and become change makers in the world. For the past fifteen years, she has worked with community based organizations, offering certified coaching and facilitation through periods of transition and continues to support the Dinner Party as a grief host and a folk performer with the Vaudevillians New Years Brigade in Philadelphia.

My Story

My work in Life Design and career adaptation has been shaped by my experience of personal loss, and the realization of how important our repair abilities are for repair and growth. I acknowledge the privilege and power that comes with our identities.  Drawing from my experience peacemaking in Northern Ireland, navigating homicide loss through compounding systems, and my Quaker faith, I challenge my own biases and recognize our emerging  vital knowledge as we co-create.

My philosophy of work and service is grounded in harm reduction, growing feminist ideas, and the transformative power of personal and community growth. I utilize the guiding principles of listen to learn, know your power, and challenge your bias. I strive to redesign the cycles of harm reinforced by traditional work, service, and philanthropic efforts to enhance a shared mission and center on the human scale of our efforts.
